The Legal Aid Society of Westchester County seeks one New York bar admitted appellate attorney for our Appeals Bureau. The successful applicant will have superior research, writing, and communication skills. Primary responsibilities include preparation of direct appeals, as well as SORA appeals, and all post-conviction relief applications.
The position is located at our office: 150 Grand Street, Suite 100, White Plains, NY 10601.

The Legal Aid Society of Westchester County Seeks Criminal Defense Staff Attorneys
The Legal Aid Society of Westchester County provides direct quality mandated representation to all persons accused of serious felony crimes in Westchester County. The staff attorney positions require dedicated New York State bar-admitted attorneys who will handle difficult felony cases. Primary responsibilities include court appearances (including night court), client contact both in and out of correctional facilities, collaborative work with the Society's social work staff, criminal investigators, and immigration attorneys. Staff attorneys work together in small teams. Felony trials are handled by all staff attorneys. Successful candidates must be flexible, and hard-working. Successful candidates are required to have a valid New York State driver's license and a car.
