The Legal Aid Society of Westchester County offers career opportunities for attorneys, social workers, investigators, and in human resources. LASW also provides opportunities for people to join our administrative staff as well as internships. We work closely with local law schools to provide placement for their pro bono scholar programs. As part of our reentry efforts, we provide opportunities to formerly incarcerated people and for community outreach.

Our attorneys and staff handle all types of criminal cases both in and out of the courtroom. As an attorney, you will have the opportunity to handle motion practice, case development, plea negotiations, pre-trial and trial practice. We also have a robust appellate practice.

As a social worker, you will have the opportunity to work directly with clients and their families to develop mitigation reports as well as support the clients during our legal representation of them.

Our investigative staff investigates the circumstances surrounding our client's matters, finds and interviews witnesses, and investigate crime scenes.

Our administrative staff, legal interns, pro bono scholars and social work interns provide support to our attorneys and social work staff.

We have training programs regularly for all members of our staff as well as offering trainings both internally and outside of the office on more career specific topics.

LASW is registered Continuing Legal Education provider
